I am analysing this contents page as it relates to my genre. I have chosen to analyse this NME magazine contents page as is has a very large image in the centre of the page.
Magazines to focus on NME & Indie.
This is because of the style and way their are laid out. I have chosen to analyse this contents page due to the layout.
This contents has 10 main articles which are featured and over 66 pages. The image takes up over 1/3rd of the page with it being the main feature of the magazine. The image has also been followed up with a great amount of text which describes and gives hints to the article. To the left hand side of the image is a large column on 'band index' I like this idea and may use it in my own contents as it gives a great list of which Band's this magazine features.
At the bottom of the page is advertisement, this takes up a large section page and is used to show a subscription and the offers there is with one. I also may use this feature in my magazine as I think it would be a great way to entice more readers with a cheep subscription. Most of the page is wrote in serif as this is a convention of most contents pages.
There is many items I would like to use in my own contents page which I have taken from this one:
Where the mast head is placed.
The band list
Subscription offers
Large image and text information.

There is no analysis here at all! You need to analyse the codes, conventions, layout, fonts, colours, images , language - then you need to say how this has influenced your planning and creativity.
